EASA endorsement module: transport and/or dropping of cargo

The ability to transport and/or drop cargo using Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) opens up a wide range of applications, from logistics and delivery to specialized industrial or emergency tasks. However, such operations introduce unique risks and require specific competencies from the remote pilot and UA crew.

This EASA endorsement module provides the necessary additional theoretical knowledge and practical training to address these requirements. It ensures that pilots understand the implications of carrying external or internal loads, the procedures for safe attachment and release, and the risk mitigation strategies essential for these types of operations. Successful completion demonstrates that your competency has been assessed by a European designated training institution.

Note: For the transport of dangerous goods, an additional specific endorsement module is required and can often be taken in conjunction with this module.

Duration: To be specified by training provider (often 1-2 days, including theory on payload management, flight dynamics with cargo, and practical exercises).
Prerequisites:

– A valid EASA remote pilot certificate (e.g., Open A2 with relevant authorisation, STS certificate, or RPCT for Specific Category).
– Thorough understanding of UAS mass and balance principles.
– Practical flight skills on the relevant UAS type.

Recognized Entity: To be specified by training provider (e.g., IDA Finland, if they are the designated entity for this endorsement).
