EASA endorsement module: night operations

This EASA endorsement module is tailored for remote pilots who need to conduct Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) operations during nighttime hours. Depending on the specific nature and risk profile of the UAS operation, flying at night often imposes additional requirements on the remote pilot and the UA crew.

EASA has formulated specific endorsement modules, like this one for night operations, to ensure pilots acquire the necessary competencies through both additional theoretical knowledge and practical training. Successfully completing this module demonstrates that you have the required skills and that your knowledge has been tested by a European designated training institution, enabling you to safely and effectively manage UAS flights after dark.

Duration: To be specified by training provider (typically 1-2 days, including theoretical instruction and practical night flight training).
Prerequisites:

– A valid EASA remote pilot certificate appropriate for the intended base operation (e.g., Open A2, STS certificate, or RPCT for Specific Category).
– Sufficient overall flight experience as deemed necessary by the training provider.
– Medical fitness for night flying (e.g., adequate night vision).
